How It Works

Simulation 1 Simulation 2

Simulate

Participants will design and simulate a series of rocket designs that come to their mind with software such as OpenRocket.

Simulation CG Simulation Numbers

Analyse

Validate CG/CP, stability margins, and ensure your design is flight-ready.

Design

Once the participants have gotten a valid design from their simulation, they can then proceed to design the layout using CAD. This is a full mock-up of the rocket, from fins all the way to the nose cone.

Review

After designing, the participants will submit their design alongside with a BOM for review, the review will ensure that the rocket design can be produced and flown safely before a grant is issued. Review includes checking stability margin, recovery method .etc

Build

Construct rocket using approved materials and methods. The process will need to be logged using lapse or any other platform to share a timelapse video.

Fly

The fun stage! Launch at a NAR approved local rocketry club, collect data, and iterate on your design.

Program Tiers

Tier 1: Basic rocket + stable flight

Tier 2: Rocket + Flight computer (data logging)

Tier 3: Control (altitude / stabilisation)

Tier 4: JrHPP L1 certification pathway

Rewards

Grant: Around 4.50 USD per hour of time spent designing

Merch: 10 ticket per hour spent building

Participation Incentives:For all new participants who log at least one hour, a sticker pack will automatically be sent to them.

Example Project: Tier 3

Goal: Stable flight using active fin stabilisation
